When the 8000 btu went out I jumped upwardly to 10000 btu with this ac. It can't cool like the 8000 btu did. The compressor don't stay on long enough to absurd. I'g not using any of the free energy saving gadgits. I have a temp gauge hanging on the vent and it runs around 60 degrees,unless the compressor Is on and then almost 45 to 50. The compressor volition not stay on long enough to cool the shop.Harold

We've looked and looked for a window unit that has a fresh outside air option, and this is it! Here in MI it'south not always hot and boiling at night, so the fresh air setting is smashing on those libation nights. In the "olden days" window units always had this selection, but not now. They claim they have a fresh air cycle, but all it does is circulate the inside room air. This ten,000 btu unit is bigger than what nosotros needed because we always had a v,000 btu unit in our bedchamber that was just to supplement our aging key air. Nosotros are very pleased with this unit. The lights aren't every bit bright as our other 1 at night (you can dim them); my married woman noticed it doesn't make a lot of racket when it cycles on and off; easy installation; light enough that information technology doesn't need an outside bracket; and an piece of cake to read remote control.This is a Very Overnice Unit of measurement and I would recommend it to anyone.
